Leading on Purpose – A Study of Nehemiah

It is popular today to want to be called a ‘leader.’ Many people want to be a leader in the workplace, in our government, in our communities, and in our churches. Hundreds upon hundreds of books have been written on the topic of leadership. There are books that teach how to be a good leader. There are books that teach how to motivate people. There are still other books that teach the value of teamwork. In the sea of material out there today, it’s hard to determine what is worth reading on the topic of leadership.

There is one book that highlights the works of a man who was a phenomenal leader in a very, very difficult time in history. The man Nehemiah led his country to return to their homeland from exile, he rallied them together around a cause, and he worked alongside of them every day to rebuild walls of the great city. Join us for this series on a study of the man Nehemiah and how God used him to lead Israel on a purposeful mission.

Do you find it hard to be a Christian? Are you surrounded by co-workers, neighbors, friends, and maybe family that make fun of you for your faith?  How do you teach your children to not be affected by the mixed up culture that we’re surrounded by? How do you enjoy social media, music, television, and movies without it changing your values and principles?

Join us during the summer months as we dive into these questions that we are all facing today. We will be studying the book of 1 Peter to enable us to see what the Bible teaches us about Right Living in a Mixed Up World.

LIVING THROUGH TIMES OF LOSS

During the month of May, our church will be going through a month long study about grieving and experiencing loss as Christians. We will learn that we do not suffer alone, that there is hope through Jesus Christ, and that we can encourage one another through our times of grief.

The sermons each week in May will help us to delve into grieving and understand what the Bible teaches about loss. We will help one another to grow through this study and we will be there to support one another.

It is our earnest prayer that those that are really hurting will find comfort and peace through Jesus who said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
