Shepherd Ministry

Shepherd’s Ministry

1 Peter 5:1–2 says, “1 Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness.”  These words are the charge that God gives to the elders of the church to carefully guard the members of the church.

Our shepherd’s ministry is led by the Pastors and the Elders. Each member of the church is led by an elder or a Pastor.  The goal is that each member is in regular contact with his or her shepherd. If there is a family need, each person should contact their shepherd so that they are aware of the situation, can be praying, and offer any assistance that is needed.  Every member has a shepherd and if you are new to St. Peter’s Church, a shepherd will be assigned to you when you become a member.
